Do you check credit before renting?

No. We do not run credit checks as part of the rental process. This allows many customers to rent with us even if they've been declined elsewhere.

Is insurance required to rent a vehicle?

No insurance is required to rent from Phoenix Car Rental. If you have full coverage car insurance that transfers to a rental vehicle, please bring that certificate with you to the counter. Our goal is to keep the rental process simple and accessible while still being clear about expectations up front.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes. All rentals require a security deposit. The amount depends on the vehicle, rental length, and payment method. Our team will explain the deposit clearly when you get your quote.

Do your rentals include mileage limits?

No. We offer unlimited mileage, which is especially helpful for longer rentals, road trips, or customers who don't want to track miles during their stay.

Do you rent to drivers under 21?

Yes. We rent to drivers starting at age 18. Drivers under 21 have an additional surcharge, while drivers 21 and older rent at standard rates with no young driver fee. This makes us a popular option for younger renters who have limited choices elsewhere.

Can I rent with an out-of-state or international driver's license?

Can I take a rental vehicle to Rocky Point, Mexico?

Yes. We offer rentals approved for travel to Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco), Mexico. Be sure to let us know ahead of time so we can confirm eligibility and review any requirements. There is an additional surcharge for Mexico-bound rentals.

Are you located at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport?

We're located just a few minutes from the airport rather than on airport property. This setup helps customers avoid the extra fees — like concession recovery fees and facility charges — that come with renting at the airport Rental Car Center. No rental company is actually inside the airport terminal; everyone takes a shuttle.

How do I get to your location from the airport?

We offer a free shuttle from Sky Harbor to our location. If you prefer to take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi, we'll reimburse you for the ride when you arrive — we're less than 4 miles from the airport. Call us at (602) 904-3490 when you land and we'll arrange your pickup.

What types of vehicles do you offer?

We offer a wide range of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, minivans, 15-passenger vans, pickup trucks, and premium vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade. Vehicles are booked by category, and availability depends on dates and demand.

Do you offer one-way rentals?

No. All rentals must be returned to the Phoenix location where they were picked up.
